Sawn Wood and Thermally Modified Wood
Wood is the most commonly used building material with the longest tradition across all areas of construction. Its characteristics—such as versatility, high strength-to-weight ratio, and ease of processing—have been utilized for centuries. As part of Bioles’ operations, our sawmill has been running for over 20 years, giving us extensive experience in wood processing. This drives our continuous improvement, adaptation to new technologies, careful resource management, sustainability, future-focused development, and thoughtful selection of skilled collaborators.
We specialize in the processing of hardwood, especially oak. We also offer sawn wood in cherry, walnut, ash, beech, maple, alder, pear, spruce, and pine.
Our portfolio includes:
• joinery wood
• wood for formwork
• wooden battens and beams
• timber for roofing
• boards (including four-sided planed)
• cladding boards
• ship decking and outdoor decking
• production of pallets and crates for overseas shipping compliant with ISPM 15 standard
Thermally Modified Wood
Thermally modified wood is an entirely environmentally friendly alternative to chemical wood treatment. This process is completely harmless to both health and the environment. Due to the naturally increased durability, thermally treated wood has a very long lifespan (over 25 years).
The treatment is done exclusively using heat and steam (160°C to 230°C), giving the final product a beautiful, darker tone. The wood gains significantly improved dimensional stability, reduced cracking, and less expansion and shrinkage. It also becomes more resistant to mold and is free of resin.
